To contemplate the flight of wild geese seen and lost among the clouds.”
Kanso refers to the idea that simplicity is elegant and it can be found in the everyday moments we experience. Kanso is one of the seven pillars of Wabi-sabi that’s all about living a simple, clutter-free lifestyle.
As we’ve seen above, Wabi-sabi emphasizes the finding of beauty through imperfection, but Kanso, in particular, is concerned with keeping things simple, free from clutter, and functional.
