Who says science and art don’t go hand in hand? Here we see Starry Night, one of the most famous and representative pictures by Vincent van Gogh, made from colored bacterial colonies on Petri dishes. Petri dishes are shallow cylindrical glasses or plastic lidded dishes that biologists use to culture cells such as bacteria or small mosses.
