Well the title is a bit deceiving, so let me clear this out a bit: this 100 year old Belgian tree doesn’t talk, in the old fashioned way. He does however, run a website, have a few thousand facebook friends and he tweets pretty often. I’ve gotta tell you, I absolutely loved this idea !

You can find the talking tree website here, where he does all his social media stuff; he also shares weather and environmental news.

Anyway, the main goal of this was to bring a little tree buzz into everyday life, like a “leaf level view” on how things are going. After all, everybody has an opinion on nature, but what’s Nature’s opinion on everybody ? Well, here are just a few hilarious and well thought updates:

  • Breakfast for today: CO2, diesel fumes and some Nox
  • Not a single car around today. This brings back memories.
  • Won’t be doing too much photosynthesis in this cloudy weather
  • This ozone concentration makes it difficult to do my job
  • Talking Tree – Making of from Tom on Vimeo.

Don’t know about you, but this is definitely the kind of facebook friend I want.
