We probably all have some CDs just lying around the house, back from the day when memory sticks were still a project and hard drives had 10 GB. If you’re like me, you feel a little nostalgia when seeing that even though not abandoned yet, CDs will never return to their former glory.
But for UK artist Bruce Munro, this was a great opportunity! He took 65.000 disks and turned them into 100 floating, shiny, beautiful waterlilies in Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania. There was a touch of symbolism in the move as well – the lilies were in the form of the the Victoria waterlily – a species first hybridized in the 1960s in that same garden.
